Bio

Amir is an artist, designer, scientist and engineer whose life is about creating great products. His work delivers innovative, usable and engaging user experience to the web, the desktop and mobile devices. His mission is to help companies create break-through elegant user interfaces and interaction designs.

Amir’s unique strength lies in combining his visual and interaction design skills with his strong technical and academic background, which enables him to wear multiple hats and communicate efficiently with various disciplines.

His background includes his work as a user experience program manager at Microsoft where he helped design and ship Microsoft Expression Blend: a designer tool for WPF and Silverlight. Prior to working at Microsoft, he worked on research and development projects with AT&T research labs, Microsoft Research labs, and the Human Computer Interaction Lab at the University of Maryland. He also enjoyed working as a software engineer at ITWorx, where he wrote software for Adobe, Corel, Microsoft and created multi-player online games.

After shipping Expression Blend in 2007, Amir left Microsoft and started Fictiv: a strategic user experience agency that helps companies create better products by focusing on delivering great user experiences that engage and inspire the user.

Amir received his Master’s degree in 2003 from the University of Maryland, College Park where he primarily worked in human factors, information visualization and usability engineering. He also received his Bachelor’s degree in computer science in 1999 from the University of Alexandria where he focused on building computer graphics and rendering system.
